Frontex announces competition for industry to develop technology allowing for detection of small aircraft used for cross-border crime

Frontex will hold a competition for technical solutions to detect low-flying objects. Border guards need to be able to detect low-flying objects crossing the border and intercept them or track. Three companies will be selected. Frontex and national officials will assess the performance of the proposed technologies. The final scoring will also take into account the solution’s cost efficiency and its foot print size and complexity. The winner will receive a prize of EUR 250000; the second place 150000 and third place is 50000.
