The Brochure has been elaborated as a follow up of the Exhibition and workshops organized in 2014 and dedicated to the European funded projects in the field of border security.

The possibility exists for Industry to visit Frontex and brief Frontex experts on its portfolios of products and services in the field of border security. For this purpose, a Visit Proposal Form available at http://btn.frontex.europa.eu/form/visit-proposal-form must be completed and submitted.

The ‘Forward Study of European Border Checks’ focuses on the futures and foresight tools relevant to European border control.

Brief description: 

The project aims to deliver to border authorities more efficient technological equipment that provides higher security level of identity and luggage control of pedestrians and passengers inside vehicles, at land and maritime checkpoints.

This project pursues the identification of best practices in border checks at land BCPs. In 2012 the focus was on border check procedures and international cooperation at the external land borders. In 2013 the project is exploring additional areas, namely the performance of VIS checks at land BCPs,the human machine interface of border control equipment, border checks at railway BCPs, and cooperation between border guards and customs.

The overarching goal of the VIS Project is to provide Member States implementing the Visa Information System with tools to better perform their tasks and to identify and gain value from EU-level synergies provided by use of the VIS system wherever possible.
