CAMELOT proposes to develop and demonstrate different advanced command and control service modules for multiple platform domains, based on a SOA architecture that specifies internal and external interfaces, allowing the development of a modular and scalable command and control station, customisable to the user needs. This architecture can be based on results of previous studies and work or open architectures that may prove more suitable and the interfaces can take advantage of the standardisation work that has been done already.

RANGER innovates by combining novel and ground-breaking Radar technologies with innovative supporting technological solutions for early warning, in view of delivering a surveillance platform that will offer tracking as well as detection, recognition, and identification of vessels far beyond existing legacy radar systems. Furthermore, the RANGER system will seamlessly fit and contribute to the CISE framework through the provision of on-demand CISE compliant services.

Ongoing border security related EU funded projects (FP7)

Frontex invites Industry and Academia to present to the border guard community mature methodolgies/best practices on testing/assessing border security technologies in the real field, able to produce useful and objective measures of technology performance and effectiveness.

Frontex invites to workshop the European Industry and Academia which lead (or are about to start/are in the incubation phase of ideas on) research and development projects aimed at developing new products, technologies, solutions for border security and using financial sources other than EU financing.

The project proposes to bring the European ongoing and new border security research projects to the attention of the relevant stakeholders, in order to put the real needs under the light of research, thus ensuring that the projects’ results will best serve the requirements of border security.
The project proposes also to contribute to the capacity building process bringing to the attention of the Border Guard Authorities new and innovative approaches (e.g. Pre-Commercial Procurement instrument) designed to acquire research and development services and related results, with the purpose of steering the development of new innovations towards their needs.
